Theseatbeltpre-tensionerswillonly
beactivatedonceandthenMUST
BEREPLACED.Failuretoreplacethe
pre-tensionerswillreducetheefciencyof
thevehicle'srestraintsystem.
Ifthepre-tensionershavebeenactivated,
theseatbeltswillstillfunctionasrestraints,
andmustbewornintheeventthatthe
vehicleremainsinadrivablecondition.
Theseatbeltpre-tensionersshouldbe
replacedattheearliestopportunitybyan
MGAuthorisedRepairer.
Thevehicleisttedwithseatbeltpre-tensioners.These
aredesignedtoretracttheseatbeltsandworkin
conjunctionwiththeairbagsintheeventofasevere
collision.Theyaredesignedtoretracttheseatbeltand
securetheoccupant.
Theairbagwarninglampontheinstrumentpackwill
alertthedrivertoanymalfunctionoftheseatbelt
pre-tensioners(referto"WarningLampsandIndicators"
inthe"InstrumentsandControls"section).
Theseatbeltpre-tensionerscanonlybeactivatedonce,
afteractivationinacollisiontheymustbereplaced.This
mayalsoinvolvereplacementofotherSRScomponents.
Pleasereferto"ReplacementofSRSComponents"in
"Airbags"ofthischapter.
IMPORTANT
•Theremovalorreplacementofapre-tensionermust
becarriedoutbythetechnicianstrainedbythe
manufacturer .
•10yearsfromtheinitialdateofregistration(or
installationdateofareplacementseatbelt
pre-tensioner),somecomponentswillneedtobe
replacedbyanMGAuthorisedRepairer.
