Thepurposeoftheparkingaidisonlyto
assistthedriverinparking!Theultrasonic
sensorsmaynotbeabletodetectcertain
typesofobstructions,e.g.narrowpostsor
smallobjectsnomorethanafewinches
wide,smallobjectsclosetotheground,
objectsabovethetailgateandsomeobjects
withnon-reectivesurfaces.
Keeptheultrasonicsensorsfreeofdirt,
iceandsnow.Ifdepositsbuildupon
thesurfaceofanultrasonicsensor,its
performancemaybeimpaired.When
washingthecar,avoidaiminghighpressure
waterjetsdirectlyattheultrasonicsensors
fromcloserange.
RearParkingAid
Theultrasonicsensorsontherearbumpermonitorthe
areabehindthevehicletosearchforobstacles.Ifan
obstructionisdetected,thesystemcalculatesitsdistance
fromtherearofthecarandcommunicatesthisinformation
tothedriverbyanalarmsound.
Note:Whentowingmodeisactive,rearparking
aidsystemandreardrivingassistancesystemwillbe
disabled.
OperatingStateoftheParkingAid
RearParkingAid
TheparkingaidisenabledautomaticallywhentheRgear
isselected,itisswitchedoffassoonastheRgearis
disengaged.Ashortbeepisgivenbytheparkingaidwithin
1secondafterselectingRgeartoindicatethatthesystem
isoperatingnormally.
Note:Ifalonger,higherpitchedsoundisemittedfor
3secondswhentheRgearisselected,thisindicatesa
faultinthesystem.Inthiscaseseekassistancefrom
yourMGAuthorisedRepairer.
