BrakeSystem
Overview
ThisseriesofmodelsisequippedwithanIntegrated
BrakingSystem(IBS),whichbrakesthevehiclethrough
dualcircuits.Payattentiontothefollowingsduringuseof
theIBS:
•TheIBSonlyfunctionswiththepowersysteminREAD Y
mode.NEVERallowthevehicletofreewheelwiththe
powersystemturnedoff.
•Ifthepowersystemisturnedoffwhiledriving,you
shouldrmlypressthebrakepedal,andstopthevehicle
asquicklyastrafcsafelypermits.
•IftheIBSperformancedegradesduetoalowbatteryor
otherreasons,youneedtoapplymoreforcethanusual
tothebrakepedaltobrakeeffectively.
•Ifthebrakingefciencydecreasesduetovehiclefailure,
pleasecontactanMGAuthorisedRepairerforservice
assoonaspossible.
IBScanprovide3differentbrakingresponsemodesforthe
vehicle:
•Comfort:Thebrakingresponseisslowandthepedal
feelissoft.
•Normal:Thebrakingresponseismoderateandthe
pedalfeelismoderate.
•Sport:Thebrakingresponseisquickandthepedalfeel
issensitive.
Y oucanswitchthebrakingresponsemodebyadjustingthe
drivingmodeofthevehicle,orcustomizethesettingson
theInfotainmentdisplay.Ifthebrakepedalispressedorthe
StabilityControlSystem(SCS),T ractionControlSystem
(TCS)orAnti-lockBrakeSystem(ABS)istriggered,the
switchingofbrakingresponsemodescannotbecompleted
immediately.
IBSsupportsbrakeenergyregeneration.Whenthebrake
pedalispressedforbraking,theIBSwilldeterminethe
driver'sdemandforbrakingforce.Thedrivemotorwill
convertthevehicle'skineticenergyintoelectricalenergy,
whichisstoredinthehighvoltagebatterywhenthevehicle
isdecelerating.Thisprocesscanimprovetherangeofthe
vehicle.
Thebrakesystemcanbedividedintoservicebrakesystem
andparkingbrakesystem.Theservicebrakesystem
