EmergencyStarting
NEVERattempttopowerthevehicleby
pushingortowing.
Makesurethatbothbatteriesareofthe
sameratedvoltage(12volts),andthatthe
boostercablesareapprovedforusewith12
voltcarbatteries.
Ensuresparksandopenamesarekept
wellawayfromthefrontcompartment.
Ensurethatboostercablesarermly
connectedanddonottoucheachotheror
othermovingparts,otherwise,sparksmay
becaused,resultinginreorexplosion.
Whenthebatterylosespower,boostercablescanbeused
toconnectthebatteryofanothervehicleoranexternal
batterytostartthevehicle.
Ensurethevehiclepowersystemisturnedoffandswitch
offALLelectricalequipmentonthevehicle,thenfollowthe
instructionsasbelow:
1ConnectaREDboostercablebetweenthepositive
(+)terminalsofbothbatteries.ConnectaBLACK
boostercablefromthenegative(-)terminalofthe
donorbattery(A)toagoodearthpoint(thesteering
gearassemblyhousingorotherunpaintedsurface,for
example)onthedisabledvehicle(B),asfarawayfrom
thebatteryaspossibleandwellawayfromthebrake
lines.
