TPMScannotreplaceroutinemaintenance
andchecksofthetyreconditionand
pressure.
Usingequipmentthattransmitson
frequenciessimilartothatoftheTPMS
mayinterferewiththeoperationofthe
TyrePressureMonitoringSystem,this
mayilluminateawarningorregistera
temporaryfault.
TPMSusespressuresensorsbuiltintotyrevalvesto
continuouslymonitorpressureandtransmitdatatothe
ECUinsidethevehicleusingRFsignals.Ifitdeduces
thatthepressureofthattyrehasfallenbelowthe
predenedlimitofthesystem,thewarninglightinthe
instrumentpackwillilluminate(alwaysyellow).For

oflowtyrepressure,butitcannotreplacenormaltyre

IftheTPMSmalfunctionindicatorlamp
illuminates,andthewarningmessage"XXTyrePressure
Low"isdisplayed,itisadvisedthatyoupleasestopthecar
assoonaspossible,checkthetyrepressurewhentheyare
coldandinatethetyretothestandardpressurevalue.
ThetyrepressurelabelattachedtotheBpillarindicates
thestandardpressurevaluerequiredbyyourvehicletyres
whentheyarecold.
Drivingwithunder-inatedtyresmayoverheatandcause
tyrefault.Overorunder-inatedtyreswearoutmore
rapidlyandalsohaveadetrimentaleffectonthecar’s
handlingcharacteristics.Under-inatedtyresincrease
therollingresistanceofthecarwhich,inturn,increases
powerconsumption.
