•Manualoperation:PulluptheEPBswitchtoturnonthe
EPBsystemafterthevehicleisparkedsafely.Whenthe
vehicleispoweredon,pressthebrakepedalandpress
theEPBswitchtoturnofftheEPBsystem.
•Automaticoperation:ShiftintoPgeartoturnonthe
EPBsystemafterthevehicleisparkedsafely.Parkthe
vehiclesafelyonaatroadoraroadwithasmallslope,
startthepowersystem,andshiftintoN,DorRgear
fromPgeartoturnofftheEPBsystem.
IftheindicatorintheEPBswitchandtheindicatorinthe
instrumentpack
illuminate,itindicatesthattheEPB
systemhasbeenturnedon.IftheindicatorintheEPB
switchandtheindicatorintheinstrumentpackgoes
off,itindicatesthattheEPBsystemhasbeenturnedoff.
Note:AlwaysturnontheEPBsystemeverytimeyou
leavethevehicle.
Note:Anaudiblemotornoisemaybeheardwhen
turningonorofftheEPBsystem.
Note:Onasteepslope,shiftingfromPgeartoother
gearswillnotturnofftheEPBsystem.Inthiscase,
pleaseturnofftheEPBsystemmanually,orusethe
StartAssistfunctionofEPB.
IMPORTANT
•DONOTleavethevehiclebeforetheindicatorlamp
intheEPBswitchilluminatesandthegearindicator
displaysP,thevehiclemaynotbesafelyparkeddue
toEPBfailureandslip.
•Intheeventofaatbatteryorpowerfailure,itis
notpossibletoapplyorreleasetheEPB.Insucha
case,'boostercables'shallbeusedforemergency
vehiclestart.Pleasereferto'EmergencyStarting'in
'EmergencyInformation'chapter.
