STARTING&DRIVING
Note:Thedrivershouldadjustthevehiclespeedand
thefollowingdistanceaccordingtotheroadvisibility,
weatherandroadconditions.Thetrafcjamassist
systemdoesnotrespondtopedestrians,animals,
stationaryvehiclesandvehiclesthatdriveacrossthe
laneoroncomingvehiclesinthesamelane.Ifthe
trafcjamassistsystemcannotreducethevehicle
speedtimelyandeffectively,thedriverMUSTapply
thebrakes.Incongestedconditions,shouldanother
vehiclecutintothelanebeingusedbythevehicle
undertrafcjamassistsystemcontrol,thesystem
maynotdetectthevehicleinadequatetimetomake
abrakingmanoeuvre.Inthiscasethebrakesshould
beappliedbythedriver.
Thetrafcjamassistsystemwillbeimpaired
orineffectiveinthefollowingconditions:
•Thehazardlampsareactivated.
•Thedriverindicatesinthedirectionofthelaneline
abouttobecrossed.
•Thedriverappliestheacceleratorrapidly,carriesout
anemergencymanoeuvreormakesahardbrakepedal
application.
•Thesystemdetectsthatthedriverhasnotmovedthe
steeringwheelforapresettimeperiod.
•Duringsystemintervention,thesteeringwheelisbeing
manipulatedbythedriver .
•Thelanelineistoothin,damaged,orfuzzy.
•Thevehicleisbeingdrivenonabendwithasmall
curvatureradius,theroadistoonarrowortoowide.
•Thevehiclehasjustenteredaroadsectionwithlane
linesorisbeingdrivenonaroadsectionwithoutlane
lines.
•ThevehicleisnotinD.
•Thevehiclechangeslanesorswayslaterallytoofast.
•Theturningradiusofthecarusingthetrafcjamassist
systemtotrackinfrontistoosmall.
•Theanti-lockbrakesystem(ABS)andthedynamic
stabilitycontrolsystem(SCS)areactivated.
•Faultsexistintheanti-lockbrakesystem(ABS),dynamic
stabilitycontrolsystem(SCS),electricpowersteering
system(EPS),etc.
Itisrecommendedtoturnoffthetrafcjamassistsystem
inthefollowingsituations:
•Drivinginasportsstyleormanner.
