are 8 Variation but-
tons. A Nord Modular G2 Variation is a complete set-
up of parameter values in a Patch. In other words, it’s
possible to have up to eight different complete param-
eter “setups” in each Patch. You could compare the
Variation function in the Nord Modular G2 with a
traditional hard-wired synth where a “variation” would
be the same as a “Program”, i.e. a setup of the sound
parameters in the synth. Press the V

ton and you will hear a different sound - but based on
the same Patch.
