3. When you have found the module and parameter
you want to assign to an A
SSIGNABLE
K
NOB
or
A
SSIGNABLE
B
UTTON
, hold down the F
OCUS
/
A
SSIGN
button and turn the parameter K
NOB
(or
push the parameter B
UTTON
if the module
parameter is a button). In this example we choose
the FltMulti1 Freq parameter.
Note! Some modules, like Mixers with On/Off
buttons, have a combination of button+knob
parameters assigned to each individual control.
If you want to assign these types of “combination parameters” to an A
SSIGNABLE
K
NOB
and B
UT
-
TON
, you have to copy the knob parameter and paste it by turning the A
SSIGNABLE
K
NOB
for the
parameter combination to be assigned properly.
4. Press the P
ATCH
button or a P
ARAMETER
P
AGE
button to exit Patch Edit Mode and revert to nor-
mal “play mode”.
5. Press the desired Parameter Page buttons (P
AGE
and C
OLUMN
) to get to the desired destination.
You can choose freely where to assign a parameter
but it could be convenient to use the Parameter
Page groups printed in blue on the front panel.
Here, we choose Page D (Filter), Column 1.
6. Hold down the S
HIFT
and F
OCUS
/C
OPY
buttons
(Paste) and turn the A
SSIGNABLE
K
NOB
(or push the A
SSIGNABLE
B
UTTON
) you want to assign the module parameter to. We choose to
assign the parameter to the first A
SSIGNABLE
K
NOB
. The LED
GRAPH
around the A
SSIGNABLE
K
NOB
(or the A
SSIGNABLE
B
UTTON
LED)
will light up with the pasted module parameter’s current value and the
parameter name will be shown in the corresponding A
SSIGNABLE
D
IS
-
PLAY
.
7. If you want to assign more module parameters, press the P
ATCH
but-
ton and repeat the procedure from step 3 above. If you have assigned several parameters from the
same module to adjacent A
SSIGNABLE
K
NOBS
/B
UTTONS
in a Page or Column, the module name
will only be shown for the first parameter. Then, there will be dashes in the A
SSIGNABLE
D
ISPLAYS
to indicate that the following parameters are from the same module.

A Variation is a complete setup of Patch parameters, i.e. basically all module parameters in a specific
Patch. Variations always reside inside every single Patch. A Patch automatically holds eight different Var-
iations. Each of these Variations are simply different parameter settings of one and the same Patch. You
could compare a single Nord Modular G2 Patch with a complete hard-wired synthesizer where you have
a predefined number of hard-wired “modules”. A Variation in a hard-wired synthesizer would then be a
