10.3. Cause of Alarm and Remedy
u CPU Error
Cause Remedy
(1) CPU is out of control due to noise.
· Turn the power on again.
· The alarm is deactivated when the power is turned
on again. If the alarm occurs frequently, contact
NSK.
(2) Defective PCB.
(If the alarm is not deactivated after the
power is turned on.)
· Replace Driver Unit referring to “Appendix 4. How
to Replace ESB Driver Unit.”
Note: 1) The CPU is not functioning, thus the RS-232C communication and other controls are
disabled because the CPU is not functioning.
2) Contact NSK if the alarm occurred.
u Heat Sink Overheat or Regeneration Resistor Overheat: P0
Cause Remedy
(1) Duty cycle of the Motor is too high.
(2) Excessive load is applied.
· Reduce the load and/or operation duty. Readjust
acceleration/deceleration.
(Stop operation, and then air-cool the Driver Unit
and the Motor.)
(3) Ambient temperature of the Driver Unit
exceeds 50°C.
(4) Heat sink temperature exceeds 90°C due
to continued heavy torque demand.
· Check surrounding condition of the Driver Unit.
· Stop the operation, and air-cool the Motor and
Driver Unit. Then check the following.
à If the duty cycle is too high.
à If an excessive load is applied.
à If the ambient temperature of the Driver Unit is
too high.
· If no trouble is found in the above check and this
alarm occurs frequently, contact NSK.
(5) Defective PCB.
(As soon as the control power is turned on,
the alarm occurs.)
· Replace the Driver Unit referring to “Appendix 4.
How to Replace ESB Driver Unit.”
l Even the alarm output is cleared; it will be on again when the thermal sensor remains on.
à Take enough time to air-cool the Motor and the Driver Unit.
