AF assist lamp will illuminate the subject when the shutter button is pressed half-way
making it easier for the camera to focus when recording in low light conditions.
Display the histogram.
You can set the position by pressing 3/4/2/1.
• A histogram is a graph that displays brightness along the horizontal
axis (black to white) and the number of pixels at each brightness level
on the vertical axis.
It allows you to easily check a picture’s exposure.

[AF Assist Lamp]
• The effective distance of the assist lamp is a maximum of approximately 1.5 m (4.9 feet).
• The AF Assist Lamp is valid only for the subject in the center of the screen.
• The setting is fixed to [OFF] in the following cases.
– [Distinct Scenery]/[Bright Blue Sky]/[Romantic Sunset Glow]/[Vivid Sunset Glow]/[Glistening
Water]/[Clear Nightscape]/[Cool Night Sky]/[Warm Glowing Nightscape]/[Handheld Night
Shot] (Scene Guide Mode)
• In the following case, [AF Assist Lamp] does not work:
– When recording with [ ] ([4K Pre-Burst]) of the 4K Photo function
[Histogram]
• When the recorded picture and the histogram do not match each other under the
following conditions, the histogram is displayed in orange.
– During Exposure Compensation
– When the flash is activated
– When the correct exposure is not achieved, such as when the lighting is low.
• The histogram is an approximation in the Recording Mode.
• The histogram is not displayed in Intelligent Auto Mode.
