4. Focus, Brightness (Exposure) and Color tone Settings
Restrictions on Auto Focus Mode
The AF Mode is fixed to [Ø] in the following case.
[Miniature Effect] (Creative Control Mode)
It cannot be set the Auto Focus Mode in the following cases.
When recording with [Post Focus]
When using the Digital Zoom
For [High Speed Video] recording, the operation of [Ø] is performed.
([Face Detection])
The camera may not detect faces in certain situations, such as when the subjects are moving
fast. In such situations, the camera performs the operation of [].
It cannot be set to [š] in the following cases.
[Clear Nightscape]/[Cool Night Sky]/[Warm Glowing Nightscape]/[Glittering Illuminations]/
[Handheld Night Shot]/[Appetizing Food]/[Cute Dessert] (Scene Guide Mode)
Underwater Mode
([Tracking])
AF Tracking may not work correctly in certain recording situations, such as when the subject is
small or the location is dark.
[ ] cannot be used with [Time Lapse Shot].
In the following cases, [ ] operates as [Ø].
[Sepia]/[Monochrome]/[Dynamic Monochrome]/[Rough Monochrome]/[Silky Monochrome]/
[Soft Focus]/[Star Filter]/[Sunshine] (Creative Control Mode)
[Glistening Water]/[Glittering Illuminations]/[Soft Image of a Flower]/[Monochrome] (Scene
Guide Mode)
[Monochrome] ([Photo Style])
Subjects and recording conditions which are difficult to focus
Fast-moving subjects, extremely bright subjects or subjects without contrast.
When recording subjects through windows or near shiny objects.
When it is dark or when jitter occurs.
When the camera is too close to the subject or when taking a picture of both distant and near
subjects.
Pressing the shutter button halfway to adjust the composition
When the subject is not in the center of the composition in [Ø], you can bring the
subject into the AF area, fix the focus and exposure by pressing the shutter button
halfway, move the camera to the composition you want with the shutter button pressed
halfway, and then take the picture.
