6. Maintenance
Do not attempt to remove the microscope cover as this will expose electrical and
mechanical hazards.
Removing the cover will void all warranties.
The Phenom microscope is designed to be low maintenance. Scheduled PM (Planned
M
aintenance) is required to ensure optimum system performance. If problems with

As required, the touch screen should be cleaned with a commercially available flat
panel display cleaner.
The screen should only be cleaned when the monitor power is off.
As required the cover surface can be cleaned with a damp cloth.
The floor of the specimen loading area should be kept dust free by wiping with a dust
free dry cloth.
The sample holder and rubber seal should be kept clean of dust by wiping with a dry
cloth or blowing with a commercially available cleaner such as a dust-off can.
The sample holder should be kept free of stains by wiping with a damp cloth as
necessary.
It is recommend to degrease the holder periodically by cleaning it with isopropyl
alcohol applied to a cloth.
Make sure that the table / desk the microscope is placed on is kept clean and dust
free.
The Phenom is equipped with ventilators that force air into the tool. An overload of
dust could be harmful to the microscope.
