To receive a broadcast sent on a particular channel, you need to be subscribed
t o t h at ch a n n el . To s u b s cr ib e t o a ch a n n el , see Updating Channel Subscriptions
on page 44.
How you receive a PTT broadcast depends on the broadcast priority, whether
youre in an active call, or if you’re allow ed to receive broad casts during active
calls.
Youll receive broad casts on the channels youre su bscribed to as well as
Channel 24 (the Priority channel) and Channel 25 (the Emergency channel). If
you’ve enabled Do Not Disturb on your phone, youll only receive Emergency
broadcasts. Non-emergency broadcasts wont display or play on your phone.
When a broadcast ends, your phone emits an end of transmission beep and
enters a 10 second waiting period. During this period, you can respond to the
broadcast (see Replying to PTT Broadcasts on p age 42).

If you receive a broadcast and youre not in an active call, the broadcast
immediately plays, regardless of the broadcast priority.

How you handle a broadcast when youre in an active call depends on the
broadcast priority and if you’re allowed to receive a broadcast when you’re in
an active call.
If the broadcast is a Normal broadcast:
If your phone is enabled to receive broadcasts during active calls, the
broad cast imm ediately plays. Youll hear both the original call and the
broadcast. To listen to only the broadcast, hold or end the call.
If your p hone isn’t allow ed to receive broad casts during active calls, the
broadcast displays as a held broadcast. To listen to the broadcast, scroll to
the broadcast and press the Accept soft key.
If the broadcast is a Priority or Emergency broadcast, the broadcast
imm ediately p lays. You ’ll hear both the original call and the broad cast. To
listen to only the broadcast, hold or end the call.
Replying to PTT Broadcasts
When a broadcast ends, the broadcast enters a 10 second waiting period.
Du ring this period, the channel remains open to receive or send ad d itional
broadcasts.
