Fluid Recommendations
1. To prevent steering fluid loss keep the steering helm
filler cap tightly shut. See the illustration.
2. The oil level is to be within 1/2” of the bottom of the
fill hole.
3. Teleflex/Seastar hydraulic oil is the specified filler for
your steering system. A spare bottle (HA5430) can be
ordered from a Teleflex/Seastar dealer.
Other acceptacle and recommended oils for the steering
system are:
Texaco HO15
Aero Shell Fluid #41
Esso Univis N15 or J13
Chevron Aviation Fluid A
Mobil Aero HFA
Note: In an emergency automatic transmission Dextron
II can be used.
Before Each Outing :
1. Check the rudder post bolt for tightness.
2. Make sure the steering yoke to rudder post bolt is se-
curely fastened with the aircraft threaded nut.
3. Check the tie bar steering jam nut for tightness.
4. Harsh fluids containing ammonia, acids or any other
corrosive ingredients must not be used for cleaning any
part of the system.
