Engine/gearbox assembly: Removal - Refitting

a Remove the bolt (37) on the rubber pad support of
the left-hand suspended engine mounting.
a Raise the vehicle, moving the engine towards the
front.
a Remove the « engine and gearbox » assembly.
REFITTING
I - REFITTING PREPARATION OPERATION
a For standard engine replacements (see Engine:
Standard replacement) (Technical Note 6023A,
10A, Engine and peripherals).
a parts always to be replaced: refrigerant pipe seal
(30,02,02,52).
II - REFITTING OPERATION FOR PART
CONCERNED
a Position the « engine-gearbox » assembly in the ve-
hicle.
a Refit the bolt on the rubber pad support of the left-
hand suspended engine mounting.
a Torque tighten the bolt on the rubber pad support
of the left-hand suspended engine mounting (62
N.m).
a Refit the right-hand suspended engine mounting
(see 19D, Engine mounting, Right-hand suspen-
ded engine mounting: Removal - Refitting, page
19D-18) .
a Remove the (Mot. 1390) from the « engine -
gearbox » assembly.
III - FINAL OPERATION
a Connect:
- the hose between the heater matrix and the coolant
pump inlet pipe,
- the hose between the heater matrix and the coolant
outlet unit,
- the expansion bottle outlet hose.
a Using the (Mot. 1448), fit:
- the clip between the heater matrix and the coolant
pump inlet pipe,
- the clip between the heater matrix and the coolant
outlet unit,
- the expansion bottle outlet hose clip.
a Fit the fuel vapour absorber wiring in place.
a Connect the fuel vapour absorber wiring:
- on the expansion bottle,
- the body.
a Refit:
- the fuel vapour absorber connector,
- the earth terminal on the body,
- the earth nut on the body.
a Torque tighten the earth nut on the body (8 N.m).
a Connect the earth wiring on the body.
a Remove the blanking plugs.
a Lubricate a new seal with the recommended air con-
ditioning oil to make fitting easier (see Air conditio-
ning: Parts and consumables for the repair
work) (62A, Air conditioning).

WARNING
Do not remove the blanking plugs from each
component until the last moment.
Also, do not remove the components from their
packaging until they are to be fitted to the vehi-
cle.
WARNING
To avoid any leaks, check that the pipe surface is
sound before positioning the new seal. The sur-
face must be clean and scratch free.
