Engine/gearbox assembly: Removal - Refitting

a Fit a new seal on the « compressor - expansion
valve » connecting pipe.
a Couple the « compressor - expansion valve » con-
necting pipe on the compressor.
a Refit the bolt of the « compressor - expansion
valve » connecting pipe bracket.
a Torque tighten the bracket bolt of the connecting
pipe between the « compressor - expansion
valve » on the compressor (8 N.m).
a Fit the « compressor - condenser » connecting pipe.
a Refit the « compressor - condenser » connecting
pipe support.
a Connect:
-the windscreen washer pump connector,
-the wiring.
a Refit:
-the fuse box,
-the air resonator (see 12A, Fuel mixture, Air reso-
nator: Removal - Refitting, page 12A-1) .
a Fit:
-the engine wiring,
-the Protection and Switching Unit.
a Refit:
-the Protection and Switching Unit connectors,
-the Protection and Switching Unit,
-the Protection and Switching Unit cover.
a Clip on the battery wiring channel.
a Position the battery cables.
a Torque tighten the battery wiring nuts on the off-
set positive terminal (8 N.m).
a Clip the offset positive terminal wiring onto the offset
positive terminal.
a Connect the connectors to the offset positive termi-
nal.
a Refit:
-the front panel,
-the front end panel bolts,
-the front end panel clips.
a Clip the wiring of the right-hand headlight on the
front end panel.
a Refit the bolt between the windscreen washer reser-
voir and the front end panel.
a Connect the pressure switch connector to the con-
denser.
a Remove the blanking plugs.
a Lubricate the new seals with the recommended air
conditioning oil to make fitting easier (see Air condi-
tioning: Parts and consumables for the repair
work) (62A, Air conditioning).
a Fit:
-a new seal on the « condenser - expansion valve »
connecting pipe,
-a new seal on the « compressor - condenser » con-
necting pipe.
a Connect:
- the « condenser - expansion valve » connecting
pipe on the condenser,
- the « compressor - condenser » connecting pipe
on the condenser.
a Refit:
- the « condenser - expansion valve » connecting
pipe bracket bolt,
- the « compressor - condenser » connecting pipe
bracket bolt.
a Torque tighten the connecting pipe bolts on the
condenser (8 N.m).
a Connect:
- the top cooling hose on the cooling radiator,
- the expansion bottle degassing hose on the cooling
radiator,
- the bottom cooling hose on the cooling radiator.
a Using the (Mot. 1448), fit:
- the top cooling hose clip on the cooling radiator,
- the expansion bottle degassing hose clip on the
cooling radiator,
- the bottom cooling hose clip on the cooling radia-
tor.
a Fit the cooling fan assembly wiring.
a Clip the cooling fan assembly wiring.
