ENGINE AND CYLINDER BLOCK ASSEMBLY
Engine/gearbox assembly: Removal - Refitting

a Unclip the fuel return union (48) of the high pressure
pump from the high pressure pump protector.
a Remove:
-the bolt (49) of the high pressure pump protector,
-the high pressure pump protector.
a Unclip the fuel supply pipe from the "rubber pad - co-
ver" assembly of the right-hand suspended engine
mounting.
a Disconnect the fuel supply pipe (50) from the high
pressure pump.
a Fit suitable blanking plugs on:
- on the fuel supply pipe union,
- on the high pressure pump opening.
a Unclip the diesel return pipe from the "rubber pad -
cover" assembly of the right-hand suspended engi-
ne mounting.
a Disconnect the diesel return pipe (48) from the fuel
return union of the high pressure pump.
a Fit an appropriate blanking plug:
- on the fuel return pipe union,
-on the opening of the diesel return pipe union of the
high pressure pump.
a Remove the radiator mounting cross member (see
Radiator support cross member: Removal - Re-
fitting) (31A, Front axle components).
II - OPERATION FOR REMOVAL OF PART
CONCERNED
a Position the tool (Mot. 1390) under the "engine -
gearbox" assembly.
