REMOVAL
I - REMOVAL PREPARATION OPERATION
a Position the vehicle on a two-post lift (see Vehicle:
Towing and lifting) (02A, Lifting equipment).
a Disconnect the battery (see Battery: Removal - Re-
fitting) (80A, Battery).
a Remove:
- the engine cover,
-the throttle valve (see 12A, Fuel mixture, Throttle
valve: Removal - Refitting, page 12A-17) .
a Unclip the engine wiring connector (1) from the lifting
eye.
a Remove:
- the dipstick guide tube bolt,
- the engine wiring retaining nut (2) .
a Unclip the engine wiring connector from the lifting
eye.
a Remove the retaining nut from the engine wiring.

Mot. 1489 TDC locating pin.
Mot. 799-01 Timing gear wheel immobili-
ser.
Mot. 1496 Tool for setting camshaft.
Mot. 1750 Addition to retaining cams-
haft setting tool Mot. 1496 .
Mot. 1490-01 Locking and adjusting cams-
haft pulleys.
Mot. 1487 Tool for removing the cams-
haft covers (57 mm diame-
ter).
Mot. 1488 Tool for removing the cams-
haft covers (43 mm diame-
ter).
