REFITTING
I - REFITTING PREPARATION OPERATION
a
a parts always to be replaced: High-pressure pipe
between the rail and injector (11,05,03,01).
II - REFITTING OPERATION FOR PART
CONCERNED
1 - Refitting one, two or three high pressure pipes
a Remove the blanking plugs from:
- the injector rail opening(s),
- the opening of the diesel injector(s).
a Screw on the nuts for the high pressure pipe(s)
between the injector rail and the diesel injector(s) by
hand without tightening, starting on the injector rail
side.
a Using the tool (Mot. 1566) or the tool (Mot. 1746),
torque tighten the nuts for the high pressure pi-
pe(s) between the injector rail and the diesel in-
jector(s) (28 N.m).
2 - Refitting the four high pressure pipes
a Remove the blanking plugs from:
- the injector rail openings,
- the opening of each diesel injector.
a Screw on the nuts for the high pressure pipe(s)
between the injector rail and the diesel injector(s) by
hand without tightening, starting on the injector rail
side.
a Torque tighten:
- the injector rail nuts (28 N.m),
-using the tool (Mot. 1566) or the tool (Mot. 1746)
(Mot. 1566) (Mot. 1746) the nuts for the high
pressure pipes between the injector rail and the
diesel injectors (28 N.m).
a Refit the injector rail protector.
a Fit the injection wiring.
a Refit the injection wiring bracket nut.
a Clip on the injection wiring clip.
a Connect:
- the connector for each diesel injector,
- all heater plug connectors,
- the connector for the turbocharging fuel flow regu-
lation solenoid valve,
- the fuel temperature sensor connector,
- the injector rail pressure sensor connector.

WARNING
Before fitting a new high pressure pipe, lightly
lubricate the nut threads with the oil from the
applicator provided in the new parts kit.
Be careful not to allow oil into the high pressure
pipe.
Do not lubricate high pressure pipes supplied
without an applicator, as these high pressure
pipes are self-lubricating.
WARNING
Do not remove the blanking plugs from each
component until the last moment.
Also, do not remove the components from their
packaging until they are to be fitted to the vehi-
cle.
