REFITTING
I - REFITTING PREPARATION OPERATION
a
a parts always to be replaced: High-pressure pipe
between the rail and injector (11,05,03,01).
a parts always to be replaced: turbocharger air
cooler air outlet pipe seal (10,09,04,05).
a Always replace the seal for the turbocharger air out-
let pipe.
a Refit:
-a seal to the air outlet pipe of the new intercooler
inside the intercooler air outlet pipe,
-a seal to the air outlet pipe of the new turbocharger
inside the turbocharger air outlet pipe.
II - REFITTING OPERATION FOR PART
CONCERNED
1 - Refitting the four high pressure pipes between
the injector rail and the diesel fuel injector
a Refit the high pressure pipes between the injector
rail and the new diesel fuel injectors.
a Screw on the nuts for the high pressure pipes
between the injector rail and the diesel injectors by
hand, without tightening.
a Tighten to torque:
- the nuts on the high pressure pipes between
the injector rail and the injectors at the injector
rail end (28 N.m) using the tool (Mot. 1746),
- the nuts on the high pressure pipes between
the injector rail and the diesel injectors at the
diesel injector end (28 N.m) using the tool (Mot.
1566).
a Refit the injector rail protector.
a Torque tighten the injector rail protector nuts (21
N.m).
a Fit the diesel injection wiring.
a Refit the nut for the diesel injection wiring onto the lif-
ting eye on the gearbox side.
a Clip the diesel injection wiring onto the injector rail
protector.
a Connect:
- all heater plug connectors,
- the connector for each diesel injector.
a Remove the blanking plugs from:
- the opening of the exhaust fuel injector fuel supply
solenoid valve,
- the opening of the exhaust fuel injector fuel supply
pipe union.
a Fit the exhaust fuel injector fuel supply pipe.
a Connect the exhaust fuel injector fuel supply pipe
union to the exhaust fuel injector fuel supply sole-
noid valve.
a Clip the alternator wiring onto the injector rail protec-
tor.
a Clip the diesel drain pipe onto the injector rail protec-
tor.
a Connect the injector rail pressure sensor connector.
a Fit the dipstick guide tube.
a Torque tighten the dipstick guide tube bolt (8
N.m).

WARNING
Before fitting a new high pressure pipe, lightly
lubricate the nut threads with the oil from the
applicator provided in the new parts kit.
Be careful not to allow oil into the high pressure
pipe.
Do not lubricate high pressure pipes supplied
without an applicator, as these high pressure
pipes are self-lubricating.
