DIESEL INJECTION
Diesel injector: Removal - Refitting

REMOVAL
I - REMOVAL PREPARATION OPERATION
a Disconnect the battery (see Battery : Removal -
Refitting) (80A, Battery).
a Remove:
-the engine cover,
-the injector rail protector (see 13B, Diesel injec-
tion, Injector rail protector: Removal - Refitting,
page 13B-70) ,
-the diesel injector fuel return rail (see 13B, Diesel
injection, Diesel injector fuel return rail: Remo-
val - Refitting, page 13B-63) ,
-the high pressure pipes between the rail and the in-
jector (see 13B, Diesel injection, High-pressure
pipe between the rail and injector: Removal -
Refitting, page 13B-87) .
II - OPERATION FOR REMOVAL OF PART
CONCERNED
a If one or more injectors are re-used, always mark a
removed injector in relation to its cylinder.
a Disconnect the injector connector (5) .

Tightening torquesm

25 N.m
IMPORTANT
To avoid all risk of damage to the systems, apply
the safety and cleanliness instructions and opera-
tion recommendations before carrying out any
repair (see 13B, Diesel injection, Diesel injec-
tion: Precautions for repair, page 13B-1) .
IMPORTANT
Wear leaktight gloves (Nitrile type) for this opera-
tion.
WARNING
To avoid any corrosion or damage, protect the
areas on which fuel is likely to run.
Note:
an injector corresponds to a cylinder.
