COOLING
Cooling radiator: Removal - Refitting

REMOVAL
I - REMOVAL PREPARATION OPERATION
a Position the vehicle on a two-post lift (see Vehicle:
Towing and lifting) (02A, Lifting equipment).
a Remove:
-the engine cover,
-the front wheels (see Wheel: Removal - Refitting)
(35A, Wheels and tyres),
-the engine undertray bolts,
-the engine undertray,
-the front section of the front wheel arch liners (see
Front wheel arch liner: Removal - Refitting)
(55A, Exterior protection),
-the front bumper (see Front bumper: Removal -
Refitting) (55A, Exterior protection).
a Drain the cooling system (see 19A, Cooling, Coo-
ling circuit: Draining - Refilling, page 19A-17) .
a Remove:
-the cooling radiator top air deflector,
- the side air deflectors of the cooling radiator,
-the headlights (see Front headlight: Removal -
Refitting) (80B, Headlights),
-the front bumper supports (see Front bumper
support: Removal - Refitting) (42A, Front upper
structure),
-the turbocharger air outlet pipe (see 12B, Turbo-
charging, Intercooler air inlet pipe: Removal -
Refitting, page 12B-41) ,
- the intercooler air inlet pipe (see 12B, Turbochar-
ging, Intercooler air inlet pipe: Removal - Refit-
ting, page 12B-41) ,
- the intercooler air outlet pipe (see 12B, Turbo-
charging, Intercooler air outlet pipe: Removal -
Refitting, page 12B-56) ,
- the intercooler (see 12B, Turbocharging, Inter-
cooler: Removal - Refitting, page 12B-37) ,
- the audible warning (see Horn: Removal - Refit-
ting) (82B, Horn).
a Unclip the air conditioning condenser (1) from the
cooling radiator by pulling upwards.
a Slightly separate the air conditioning condenser.
Essential special tooling
Mot. 1448 Long nose pliers for hose
clips.
Mot. 1202-02 Pliers for small hose clips.
Essential equipment
safety strap(s)
IMPORTANT
When working in the engine compartment, take
care as the radiator fan(s) may start up unexpecte-
dly (risk of being cut).
To avoid any risk of serious burns when the engine
is hot:
- do not open the expansion bottle cap,
- do not drain the cooling system,
- do not open the bleed screw(s).
WARNING
Prepare for the flow of fluid, and protect the sur-
rounding components.
