COOLING
Plenum chamber: Removal - Refitting

a Separate the clip (2) of the cooling radiator top coo-
ling hose (3) from the coolant outlet unit using the
tool (Mot. 1448).
a Disconnect the cooling radiator top cooling hose (3)
from the coolant outlet unit using the tool (Car.
1363).
a Separate the clip (4) of the heater matrix cooling
hose (5) from the coolant outlet unit using the tool
(Mot. 1448).
a Disconnect the heater matrix cooling hose (5) from
the coolant outlet unit using the tool (Car. 1363).
a Disconnect the coolant temperature sensor connec-
tor (6) .
a Remove:
- the coolant outlet unit bolts (5) ,
- the coolant outlet unit,
- the coolant outlet unit seal.
REFITTING
I - REFITTING PREPARATION OPERATION
a parts always to be replaced: Cylinder head coo-
lant outlet unit seal (10,06,01,19).
a Use SURFACE CLEANER (see Vehicle: Parts
and ingredients for the repairwork) (04B, Consu-
mables - Products) to clean and degrease:
- the cylinder head joint face,
- the coolant outlet unit seal housing if it is to be
reused.

WARNING
To ensure proper sealing, the gasket surfaces
must be clean, dry and not greasy (avoid any fin-
ger marks).
WARNING
Do not scrape the joint faces of the aluminium,
any damage caused to the joint face will result in
a risk of leaks.
