8.1.3. PROBLEM LIST (ECOWRAP PLUS - MASTERWRAP PLUS)
Problem
Cause
Solution
The carriage vibrates
during the stroke without
film
Excessive friction on the guide
Clean the guide, lubricate it with silicone oil or spray
grease.
Excessive wear of sliding
guide shoes
Replace sliding guide shoes
Poor belt tension
Check the belt tension verifying that the tensioning
springs have a length, after pre-load, of 18 mm.
The carriage does not
release the film smoothly
but with jerks
Excessive film stretch
Loosen the braking on the rubber roller.
Obstructions on the rubber
roller
Check that the roller is idling when released from the
brake.
Inspect and remove, if necessary, any fragment of
film in the lower side of the roller.
Dirty friction disc
Disassemble the friction disc and clean the surfaces
with a cloth soaked in alcohol.
Worn out friction disc
Replace the disc if the thickness of the friction
material is lower than 3 mm.
Unstable reel carriage axis
Check the correct tightening of the reel carriage axis.
If pre-stretched film is utilised, use the specific
tailstock for the stable anchoring of the reel.
Noise coming from the
friction disc
Excessive dirt on disc
Disassemble and clean the two mating surfaces with
a cloth soaked in alcohol.
Slightly lubricate with spray oil the friction material.
The oil temporarily reduces the friction coefficient
and the film braking action, but inhibits the formation
of future oxide that creates the noise.
Film breakage
Excessive film tension
Reduce the tension through the braking knob on-
board the carriage.
Presence of sharp edges on
the product to pack.
- Reduce the tension through the braking knob on-
board the carriage.
- Increase the thickness of the film used.
- - Reduce the rotary arm rotation speed.
Rubber roller locking
Check that the roller is idling when released from the
brake. Inspect and remove, if necessary, any
fragment of film in the lower side of the roller.
Film carriage axis locking
Check the correct tightening of the reel carriage axis.
Check that the reel is correctly engaged on the lower
bushing through the metallic timing blade.
Replace, if necessary.
The carriage does not
move beyond the pallet
Altimeter function activated
Change the set value, or activate the pallet height
detection photocell.
The carriage does not
move up, or stops in the
wrong position
Reel too heavy
Use only reels with maximum weight of 8 kg.
Wrong cam position for limit
switches
Check the correct cam position for limit switches.
Drive locked
Check the correct operation of the drive components:
motor and reduction unit.
Sliding on guide not possible
Check that there are no obstructions on the path of
the sliding guide shoes.
Limit switch breakage
Check the correct operation of the limit switch.
Breakage of cables in chain
Check the continuity of the electric connections.
Poor belt tension
Check the belt tension verifying that the pre-load
springs have a length of 18 mm.
