Unscheduled maintenance
o Close the sample door and the front cover.
o Press NO until CALIBRATION? is displayed.
o Press YES to start the calibration.
o After replacing the sample probe and fill port, QC measurements on 3 levels have
to be performed to verify the performance of the instrument.
Replacing printing paper

The printer paper is heat-sensitive on one side only. Make sure that you insert the paper
roll correctly.
The thermal printer paper supplied by Roche contains an indicator strip to alert you
when the paper roll should be changed. To change the roll:
o Open the front cover of the analyzer.
o Remove the remaining paper by pressing the paper feed button.
o Place a new paper roll in the paper tray and thread it into the feeder slot.
o Press the paper feed button to completely feed the paper through the printer.

Pressing the paper advance button once advances the printer paper 10 lines.
o Close the front cover and tear off any excess paper.
CAUTION
Personal injury due to contact with the paper tear bar
A paper tear bar is located on the front panel of the analyzer, where reports are printed
out. Contact with the tear bar may result in personal injury.
r When tearing off reports, leave enough space between your hand and the analyzer.
o Cut the end of the roll to make a square edge.

Do not pull the paper out of the printer to avoid damage to the printer.
