9180 Electrolyte Analyzer 6 Installation and shutdown
Installation
Use the keypad interface to communicate with the instrument. Press the NO key to
make changes, and press the YES key to accept the displayed values or information.

After start-up, set the date and time and insert the printer paper.
3. Setting date and time
The analyzer displays a default date and time:
To enter the correct date and time:
o Press NO until the actual day is displayed. To accept this value, press YES and the
cursor will move to the month.
o By keeping the NO key pressed, the analyzer will automatically scroll through the
numbers, first slowly, then faster.
o Press NO until the actual month is displayed. To accept this value, press YES.
o Press NO until the actual year is displayed. To accept this value, press YES. Now,
the actual date will be displayed.
o Follow the same procedure to enter the current time.
o After entering the time, the analyzer will prompt ok?. Press YES if the date and
time entered are correct, or press NO to make a change.
o After pressing YES at the last prompt, the analyzer will prompt:
STATUS: NO SnapPak.
4. Installing the SnapPak
NOTICE
Use of non-approved consumables may null and void the warranty
Use of consumables that were not produced by Roche, including but not limited to
electrodes, calibration and cleaning solutions, QC-material and related accessories, may
result in malfunction of the analyzer and may render the warranty null and void.
r Only use approved consumables when working with the analyzer. For the full list of
approved consumables, see Available accessories and consumables (p. 176).
o Record the installation date of the SnapPak on the label on the SnapPak.
o Remove the protective strip and slide the SnapPak into position on the left side of
the analyzer. Save the protective strip for the case of a shutdown or disposal.
