WARNING
Failure to regularly test electrodes may lead to incorrect patient results
Measuring patient samples with defective electrodes may lead to incorrect patient results,
which may endanger patient lives.
r Do not skip calibrations. Perform QC tests on 3 levels after replacing the electrodes.
r If you obtain implausible patient results for one or more electrolytes, immediately
perform the electrode test (Testing the electrodes (p. 159)).
WARNING
Disposal of used electrodes may lead to long-lasting harmful effects for the
aquatic environment
Used electrodes are contaminated and contain mercury.
r Dispose of used electrodes according to the appropriate local regulations.
NOTICE
Use of non-approved consumables may null and void the warranty
Use of consumables that were not produced by Roche, including but not limited to
electrodes, calibration and cleaning solutions, QC-material and related accessories, may
result in malfunction of the analyzer and may render the warranty null and void.
r Only use approved consumables when working with the analyzer. For the full list of
approved consumables, see Available accessories and consumables (p. 176).
The next procedure involves preparing and installing the electrodes in the measuring
