Checking reagent fluid level and changing the SnapPak
WARNING
Inappropriate handling and disposal of the SnapPak may cause infection and
environmental harm
The SnapPak contains liquid and/or solid waste. Inappropriate handling of this waste
during disposal may lead to the transmission of blood or urine borne pathogens. In
addition, inappropriate disposal may contaminate the environment.
r Treat the SnapPak as biohazardous waste and dispose it according to the local
regulations. For more information, contact your Roche Service representative.
r When handling the SnapPak, keep it upright to avoid spillage.
r Wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
r If you spill contents from the SnapPak, wipe it up immediately and apply a disinfectant.
r If contents from the SnapPak comes into contact with your skin, wash the affected area
immediately with soap and water and apply a disinfectant. Consult a physician.
NOTICE
Use of non-approved consumables may null and void the warranty
Use of consumables that were not produced by Roche, including but not limited to
electrodes, calibration and cleaning solutions, QC-material and related accessories, may
result in malfunction of the analyzer and may render the warranty null and void.
r Only use approved consumables when working with the analyzer. For the full list of
approved consumables, see Available accessories and consumables (p. 176).
The 9180 Electrolyte Analyzer monitors and displays the fluid level of the solutions
in the SnapPak. To check the fluid levels in the SnapPak:
o In the READY screen, press the NO key until OPERATOR FUNCTIONS? is
displayed. Press YES.
o The prompt Check/Change SnapPak? will be displayed. Press YES.
o The analyzer will display the amount of fluid remaining.
o To change the SnapPak, grasp the extended portion and slide it out.
