Using the Infrared Remote
Control
Use the supplied infrared remote control to
operate the camcorder from a distance, such
as when you want to record yourself in a scene,
or when the camcorder is connected to a TV for
use as a VCR.
Turning On the Infrared Remote
Control Mode
1 Press the MENU/DISPLAY button until
the menu screen appears.
2 Turn the SET-PUSH dial (Q) to select
“REMOTE”, and then press the dial (W)
to select “ON”.
3 Press the MENU/DISPLAY button to
turn off the menu screen.
Operating the Infrared Remote
Control
1 Open the LCD monitor completely (Q),
and then rotate it 180° vertically (W).
4 Aim the remote control transmitter at the
infrared remote sensor of the camcorder,
and press the control buttons for
operation.

Notes:
• Be careful not to allow direct sunlight or bright
light from interior illumination to fall onto the
remote sensor, as this may prevent the remote
control from operating properly.
• Be sure that there are no obstacles between the
remote control and the remote sensor.
• When the battery is depleted and the remote
control does not operate, replace it with a new
CR2025 lithium battery (see page 14).
