Counter Memory
Use the counter memory feature when you
want to return to the beginning of a particular
scene on a tape. The position where the
counter was reset (M 0:00:00) is stored in
memory to make it easier to return to that point
on the tape.
Tape Playback mode
1 Press the MENU/DISPLAY button until
the menu screen appears.
2 Turn the SET-PUSH dial to select “TIME
CODE”, and then press the dial to
display the time code screen.
3 Press the SET-PUSH dial to set the
DISPLAY item to “ON”.
4 Turn the SET-PUSH dial (Q) to select
“MEMORY”, and then press the dial
(W).
• The counter memory indicator appears.
5 During playback, turn the SET-PUSH
dial (Q) to select “RESET”, and then
press the dial (W) at the beginning of
the scene that you want to return to
later.
• The counter is reset to zero.
6 Press the MENU/DISPLAY button to
turn off the time code screen, and
resume playback. Press the Stop button
(A) to finish playback.
7 Press the Rewind button (C) to return
to the beginning of the desired scene.
• The tape will automatically stop when the
counter reaches “M 0:00:00”.
Notes:
• The Fast Forward button (B) can be used
in the same way.
• The tape may stop slightly ahead or behind
the point where you reset the counter to
“M 0:00:00”.
8 Press the Play/Still button (
) to view
the scene.
Tape Recording mode
1 Perform steps 1 to 4 above.
2 Before beginning recording the scene
that you want to return to later, turn the
SET-PUSH dial to select “RESET”, and
then press the dial.
• The counter is reset to zero.
3 Press the MENU/DISPLAY button to
turn off the time code screen, and begin
recording.
4 After recording, set the Power switch to
VCR, and then perform steps 7 and 8
above.
To turn off the counter memory
Select “MEMORY” on the time code screen,
and then press the SET-PUSH dial. The counter
memory display will change to the time code
display.
Note:
• This feature does not work during video search.
