7 Electrical installation
Switch the entire machine/system off line!
The machine/system could unintentionally start up while you are connecting the devices.
Ensure that the entire machine/system is disconnected during the electrical installa-
tion.
Ensure that downstream contactors are monitored!
Downstream contactors must be positively guided and monitored (see section 7.4 “Exter-
nal device monitoring (EDM)” on page 77)!
Connect OSSD1 and OSSD2 separately!
You are not allowed to connect OSSD1 and OSSD2 together, otherwise signal safety will
not be ensured.
Ensure that the machine controller processes the two signals separately.
If you connect loads that are not protected against reverse polarity to the OSSDs or to
the safety outputs, then you must connect the 0 V connections of these loads as well as
the 0 V connections of the related protective device separately and directly to the same
0 V terminal strip. Only in this way will it be ensured that in case of a fault there is no
potential difference between the 0 V connections of the loads and the 0 V connections
of the related protective device.
