8.2 Maintenance activities for the SR unit and measuring probe
8.2.1 Removal from the measurement gas duct
‡ Remove the weatherproof cover from the SR unit by unscrewing the two knurled nuts on
the top and lifting the cover from the unit.
‡ Switch off the power supply to the SR unit. Leave the purge-air supply (if present)
switched on.
■ If you do not have an angle flange, order no. 2 017 833, or suitable support to allow you
to place the SR unit with measuring probe and connected cables safely on the ground:
‡ Unscrew the locking sleeves of the three connectors on the bottom of the SR unit and
remove the connectors.
‡ Loosen the cable clamp for the functional ground and remove the cable.
‡ Following the safety instructions on Page page 65, and using suitable protective equip-
ment in particular, remove the SR unit and mounted measuring probe from the gas duct.
Loosen the four screw connections as shown in Fig. 36 using two 24 mm wrenches, and
remove the measuring probe with the SR unit attached from the gas duct without tilting it.
If you are using a GMP measuring probe and there is no partial vacuum in the gas duct,
never open the quick-release locks on the side of the SR unit housing while the measur-
ing probe is still in the duct. This is possible, for example, to facilitate the removal of a GPP
measuring probe (without purge-air supply), or if there is partial vacuum in the gas duct.

‡ Carefully lay the SR unit with mounted measuring probe on the ground - either on a pre-
pared bracket or, if you want to use the angle flange, on its side to prevent the cables on
the bottom from being damaged.
‡ Insert the measuring probe with SR unit in the angle flange from the right as shown, and
secure it with at least two screws. The arrangement is important to allow the SR unit to
be lifted forwards.
