OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS | TIC
Selecting the basic category system
If you have selected the Europe region, the ECTN classifier basic category system
is automatically assigned to the region.
If you have selected the North America region, the NorthAmericaDetailed basic
category system is automatically assigned to the region.
For the TIC501, you must indicate whether the system components are mounted on
the side or overhead. This specification can optimize the calculation logic for the
determination of the vehicle class regarding the mounting position.
Selecting an external category system
Specify which external output category system you want to use depending on the
selected region.
With the output category system, vehicles are no longer identified on the basis of the
individual vehicle classes within the category system. Instead, they are identified using
classification groups (traffic checking regulations).
If you have selected the ECTN classifier for the Europe region, the external categories
available to choose from are Europe, Swiss10, TLS 2+0, TLS 5+1, and TLS 8+1.
For example, the TLS 2+0 external category system includes two classification groups:
Car or similar and Truck or similar.
