5.2.2 Structure of the S7-1500H redundant system
Configuration
The S7-1500H redundant system comprises the following components:
• 2 H-CPUs
• 2 SIMATIC Memory Cards
• 4 synchronization modules (two synchronization modules in each H-CPU)
• 2 redundancy connections (two duplex fiber-optic cables)
• If applicable, IO devices
• optional load current supply
• optional system power supply (only via active backplane bus)
• optional communications processors CP 1543-1 (only via active backplane bus)
The S7-1500H redundant system should be mounted either on one shared rail or on two
separate rails. You connect the two CPUs with fiber-optic cables to two synchronization
modules in each CPU. You set up the PROFINET network via the PROFINET interfaces X1 P1R
and X1 P2R of the CPUs.
