S7-1500R/H redundant system
132 System Manual, 01/2024, A5E41814787-AF
• Support of system redundancy R1
• H-CPUs do not have to be part of a PROFINET ring or MRP do-
main.
This allows additional topology variants, such as line topology
or setup without additional devices.

6.2 Restrictions compared to the S7-1500 automation system
Introduction
Please note the following restrictions with the S7-1500R/H redundant system compared to
the S7-1500 automation system.
Hardware restrictions
Table 6- 3 Hardware restrictions
No support for fail-safe modules on the 1513R-1 PN, 1515R-2 PN,
and 1517H-3 PN CPUs because no fail-safe variants of the CPUs are
available.
Fail-safe modules are only supported by the HF-CPUs.
Series machine projects, configu-
ration control (option handling)
The redundant S7-1500R/H system supports only the following
central modules:
• Communications processor CP 1543-1
• PS 25W 24V DC
• PS 60W 24/48/60V DC
• PS 60 W 120/230V AC/DC
