Do not attempt to reinstall the Paramount firmware unless specifically instructed to do so
by Software Bisque.
You must join and log in to the Software Bisque website www.bisque.com to download
the MKS 5000 firmware updates. (Access to these downloadable files will be denied
otherwise.)
Updating the Firmware (Update Firmware Button)
MKS 5000 firmware updates, when available, can be downloaded from the Downloads page on the Software
Bisque website.
Step-by-Step MKS 5000 Firmware Update Instructions
1. Click the Check for Updates command from TheSky’s Help menu and install the latest update or daily build
if necessary.
2. Visit the Software Bisque website at www.bisque.com and log in. Access is denied otherwise.
3. On the Software Bisque website, click Support, Downloads. In the Search field, enter MKS 5000 firmware
to locate the download for your operating system.
4. From here, follow the operating system-specific instructions below:
Mac Instructions
a. Click the Paramount MKS 5000 Latest Mac Firmware Installer link.
b. Click the Download link download the MKS 5000 Firmware Disc Image. This file is
saved to your Downloads folder.
c. Open the Downloads folder, then double-click MKS 5000 Firmware Disc Image to
open or “mount” this disc image.
d. Double-click the Install MKS 5000 Firmware icon. Once completed, the latest
firmware files have been copied to your computer. When launching the installer, you
will be notified that Apple cannot check it for malicious software. To continue, click
Apple, System Preferences, Security & Privacy. Under Allow Apps Downloaded
From, click Open Anyway.
Windows Instructions
a. Click the Paramount MKS 5000 Latest Windows Firmware Installer link.
b. Click the Download link to download the file named MKS 5000 Latest Windows
Firmware Installer.exe.
c. Double-click MKS 5000 Latest Windows Firmware Installer.exe to run to. Complete
the installation process to copy the necessary firmware files to your computer.
5. From TheSky Professional, click Telescope, Connect.
