6. On the Telescope window, click Tools, Bisque TCS.
7. On the Bisque TCS window, click the Utilities tab.
8. Highlight the Reboot/Update Firmware text in the left column of the Utilities tab.
9. Click the Update Firmware button.
The MKS 5000 motor controller firmware is now updated to the latest version. Please verify this is so by comparing
the firmware versions listed on the bottom of the Bisque TCS window with the firmware versions listed on the
Paramount MKS 5000 Latest Firmware web pages. If the update was performed correctly, the versions must be
identical.
Step by Step MKS 4000 Motor Firmware Update Instructions (Windows)
1. Click the Check for Updates command from TheSky Professional’s Help menu and install the latest update,
if necessary.
2. Visit the Software Bisque website at www.bisque.com and log in, if necessary.
3. On the Software Bisque website, click Support, Downloads. In the Search field, enter MKS 4000 firmware
to locate the download for your operating system.
4. Click the Paramount ME and MKS 4000 USB Driver and Utilities link.
5. Near the center of the page, click MKS 4000 Firmware Version X.Y.Z where x, y and z are numbers that
represent the firmware version.
6. Click Download on the MKS 4000 Firmware Version X.Y.Z page.
7. Most browsers offer an option to save the file to be downloaded to a folder on your computer. When
prompted to save the file, navigate to TheSky’s Application Support Files folder. Or look into the
Downloads folder to find it.
8. From TheSky Professional, choose the Connect command from the Telescope menu.
9. On the Telescope window, click the Bisque TCS command on the Tools pop-up menu.
10. On the Bisque TCS window, click the Utilities tab.
11. Select the Reboot/Update Firmware text in the left column.
12. Click the Update Firmware button.
The MKS 4000 motor controller firmware should now be updated to the latest version. Make sure this is the case
by comparing the firmware version listed on the bottom of the Bisque TCS window with the firmware version
listed on the MKS 4000 Motor Controller Firmware Latest Version on the Downloads page. If the update was
performed correctly, the two versions will match.
Browse for Motor Firmware File
Click this button to select the motor firmware update file.
Navigate to the folder where the motor firmware update file was saved, select the file name, and then click the
Open button. A message appears when update is completed. At this point turn the power to the mount off, then
back on to complete the process.
Restore Defaults
Click this button to restore the default Bisque TCS settings (page 121).
