SECTION 3
TEST MODE
1. TEST MODE BY THE MAIN UNIT OPERATION
It operate the test mode by the main unit.
1-1. Cold Reset
It can clears all data including preset data stored in the memory to
initial conditions. Execute this mode when returning the this unit
to the customer.
Procedure:
1. Press the [

] button to turn the power on.
2. Press two buttons of the [PUSH ENTER] and [
?
/
1
] simultane-
ously for three seconds.
3. The message “All Reset” is displayed on the uorescent indicator
tube then becomes the standby state.

1-2. Disc Slot Lock Mode
It can be unable to take sample disc out of disc slot in the shop.
Procedure:
1. Press the [

] button to turn the power on.
2. Press the [MENU] button, then rotate [– TUNING +

dial to select the “Function Select” and press the [PUSH EN-
TER], then rotate [– TUNING +
.

] dial to select the
CD function and press the [PUSH ENTER] button.
3. Insert a disc in the unit.
4. Press two buttons of the [BACK] and [
?/1
] simultaneously for
ve seconds.
5. The message “LOCKED” is displayed on the uorescent indi-
cator tube and the disc slot is locked.
(Even if pressing the [
Z
] button, the message “LOCKED”
is displayed on the liquid crystal display and the disc slot is
locked)

Releasing method:
1. Touch and press two buttons of the [BACK] and [

] simul-
taneously for ve seconds
2. The message “UNLOCKED” is displayed on the uorescent
indicator tube and the disc slot is unlocked.

1-3. AM step change mode
(Canadian and Australian models)
Either the 9 kHz step or 10 kHz step can be selected for the AM
channel step.
Procedure:
1. Press the [
?/1
] button to turn the power on.
2. Press the [MENU] button, then rotate [– TUNING +

dial to select the “Function Select” and press the [PUSH EN-
TER], then rotate [– TUNING +
.

] dial to select the
AM tuner function and press the [PUSH ENTER] button.
3. Press the [

] button to turn the power off.
4. While pressing the [MENU] button, press the [

] button to
turn the power on.
5. Either the message “Step 9k” or “Step 10k” appears, select the
desired step.

1-4. Check Version Display
It can con rm the MC, CD and NW version.
Note: Please perform this mode in the state where this unit has started
completely. If it perform in the state where it has not started com-
pletely, it may not be displayed correctly.
Procedure:
1. Press the [

] button to turn the power on.
2. Press two buttons of the [BACK] and [PUSH ENTER] simul-
taneously for three seconds.
3. It enters the check version display mode, the MC version is
displayed on the uorescent indicator tube.

4. Each time [– TUNING +

the display changes CD version and NW version this order,
and release from check version display mode.
