3-7-3. Replacement of Thermal Head
Removal
1. Perform “Procedure before replacement” by referring to Section 3-7-1.
2. Remove the top cover. (Refer to Section 1-5-1.)
3. Remove the front panel block assembly. (Refer to Section 1-5-2.)
4. Remove the SW rod retainer and power SW rod. (Refer to step 3 in Section 3-6.)
5. Remove the FFC guard (HEAD), then disconnect the flexible flat cable from the connector (CN701)
on the MA-195 board.
6. Remove the two screws (BVTT2.6 x 5), then remove the MD top chassis and three head springs.

When removing the MD top chassis, slowly remove it in the direction of the arrow A so that the
head springs do not pop out.
7. Release the lock arm in the direction of the arrow B, then open the door block assembly in the
direction of the arrow C.
8. Remove the heat sink in the direction of the arrow D.
9. Remove the two screws (PSW3 x 8), then remove the thermal head.
