3-12. Pinch Arm Block Assembly

Be sure careful not to touch it with bare hands or using dirty gloves when replacing the pinch arm block
assembly. Wipe it using soft cloth moistened with ethanol of 76.9 to 81.4 v/v% in concentration when the
platen roller became dirty.
1. Remove the top cover. (Refer to Section 1-5-1.)
2. Remove the front panel block assembly. (Refer to Section 1-5-2.)
3. Remove the MD general assembly. (Refer to Section 3-6.)
4. Remove the thermal head. (Refer to Section 3-7.)
5. Remove the motor block assembly. (Refer to steps 4 to 6 in Section 3-8.)
6. Remove the timing belts. (Refer to Section 3-11.)
7. Remove the retaining ring (W2.3), then remove the idler pulley.
8. Remove the three helical extension springs.
9. Remove the four bearings, then remove the lock arm assembly and pinch arm block assembly.
10. Remove the pinch arm block assembly from the lock arm assembly.
11. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

When replacing the cam gear, cam (L) and cam (R), it is required to apply grease.
