4.10 EPT reason
Power transfer may be terminated for several different reasons. Determining the exact cause might be difficult, as
more than one fault condition might have been met. For this reason, the power transmitter is equipped with EPT
reason registers. Those registers indicate the state of various parameters, which might be responsible for the
termination. It should be noted that, as mentioned above, multiple bits (reasons) might be set to one after a power
transfer termination occurs.
Figure 38. EPT reason
The power receiver may generate an EPT request as well and send it to the transmitter. If the transmitter receives
an EPT packet from the receiver, it terminates the power transfer immediately. The EPT packet that the receiver
sends should also contain the reason for the request. The reason can be retrieved from the communication and
decoded by the user/host. Contents of the packet can be found in the buffer (MSG RECV1&2), which can be
found in the communication section of the Common Registers tab.
