Z-distance of 3 mm is a typical value for most applications (2 mm on the TX side + 1 mm on the RX side).
Clearly, the transmitter can deliver sufficient power even with 13 mm charging gap. However, efficiency is
decreasing rapidly with increasing charging gap. Therefore, minimizing Z-distance whenever possible is
recommended.
5.2.4 Thermal performance
Thermal performance of the board with a 5 W load (5 V/1 A on the RX side) after 5 minutes of continuous
operation.
