Caution – If you install 4-GB DIMMs in a Sun Fire X4100/X4200 server that did not
previously have 4-GB DIMMs, you must replace the gaskets on the main cover to
ensure containment of electrical emissions, as described in the next steps. Gasket
replacement is not necessary for Sun Fire X4100 M2/X4200 M2 server.
8. If you installed 4-GB DIMMs in a Sun Fire X4100/X4200 server that did not
previously have 4-GB DIMMs installed, install gaskets on the main cover.
Note – This gasket installation does not apply to Sun Fire X4100 M2/X4200 M2
servers.
a. Remove the backing strip from the adhesive on one of the new gaskets.
b. Set the new gasket in place, being careful to align the end of the gasket with
the front edge of the main cover. See
FIGURE 3-54.
c. Press down on the gasket to remove any trapped air and secure it firmly to
the main cover.
