Before you begin the
upgrade
Before you begi
n the upgrade, perform the following steps to determine if the
firmware on your instrument should be upgraded.
CAUTION. The firmware upgrade process may disrupt the sync signals. We
recommend that you upgrade the firmware only when the instrument is not in
service.
1. Power on the
instrument.
2. Verify the current firmware version installed on the instrument:
a. Press the BACK button as necessary to return to the top-le vel Main menu.
b. Press the up (▲)ordown(▼) arrow button to select SYSTEM CONFIG,
andthenpresstheENTER button to access the SYSTEM CONFIG menu.
c. Press the up (▲)ordown(▼) arrow button to select FW VERSION.
d. Press the left (◄)orright(►) arrow button to note the firmware version
number.

3. Verify the latest version of software at the Tektronix Web site:
a. On a computer, use a Web browser to navigate to the following Tektronix
Web site:
http://www.tektronix.com/downloads
b. On the Downloads Finder Web page, search by model number (such
as ECO8000) and fi lter by software and software type to locate the
firmware-upgrade package for the instrument.
c. Note the latest version number of the firmware-upgrade package(s).

4. If the latest firmware version at the Web site is the same as the version installed
on your instrument, you do not need to upgrade the instrument firmware.
5. If the latest firmware version at the Web site is newer than the version on your
instrument, d ownload the latest firmware package to your computer.
