6.6.3.4.1 Reconfigure the LCP board
The spare subassembly LCP is not configured to a specific subsystem (i.e. ILS 420 or CVOR/DVOR).
For configuration or update of the LCP software the PC user program is used.
NOTE: The LCP software upload comprises the files LCP.ZIP and in addition the conversion table
konv_dat.dat. As a minimum also the *.sit file of the station has to be uploaded. If needed,
copied station files *.oio, *.msk, *.ptt or *.dat have to be transferred to the site again.
a) Restart the subsystem with power on. The LCP screen shows the warning text (Fig. 6−8 b).
b) Copy the file LCP.ZIP for ILS 420 to the LCP. The LCP.ZIP file is self extracting (extracted as reu.exe;
this file is not
compatible to reu.exe of RCSE). After finishing this procedure the LCP is ready.
NOTE: This copy mode must only be performed for the LCP.ZIP file. Other files (e.g. *.sit)
would be copied to a wrong directory, if this copy mode is used. Do not rename the
LCP.ZIP file!
c) Copy the conversion table file konv_dat.dat for ILS 420 to the LCP.
d) Further software upload (files: *.sit, *.oio, *.msk, *.ptt or *.dat) and configuration of the system is
to be done with the PC user program (ADRACS or MCS); refer to chapters "Alignment Procedure".
e) Restart the system. Finally check all station settings in the LCP.
If the LCP software has been loaded, but not running correctly, it is recommended to reload or over-
write the LCP.ZIP file. This is performed with the LCP Control Menu and the PC user program:
a) Shutdown equipment with switches TX1 and TX2.
b) To start the special function menu, press buttons S1 and S4 simultaneously on the LCP immedi-
ately after power on with switches TX1 and TX2, and hold pressed until the LCP screen contains
Control menu information (see Fig. 6−8 a).
c) Press button S3 at least 1 s to select "Start Transfer to copy LCP−SW" (Fig. 6−8 a). This starts
a routine to establish communication between PC (user program) and the LCP. Copy the file
LCP.ZIP for ILS 420 to the LCP with the PC user program. Finishing this procedure the LCP is ready.
d) Copy the conversion table file konv_dat.dat for ILS 420 to the LCP.
e) Further software upload (files: *.sit, *.oio, *.msk, *.ptt or *.dat) and configuration of the system is
to be done with the PC user program (ADRACS or MCS); refer to chapters "Alignment Procedure".
f) Restart the system. Finally check all station settings in the LCP.

6.6.3.4.2 Load Firmware and Configuration of LG−A or LG−M
The spare subassembly LG−X, used as LG−A or LG−M, is not configured to its task. To perform this
item, prepare the system as follows. Connect a data terminal (e.g. PC or Laptop) to connector
’PC/RS232’ on top of the cabinet.
