IMPORTANT
Becauseoftheinternaldifferencesinthewheelmotors,donot
interchangethewheelmotorsonthemachine(e.g.,donotputthe
rightmotorontheleftsideofthemachine).Ifnecessary,usethe
PartsCatalogandPartNumberonthewheelmotortoidentifythe
rightandleftmotors,thereisalsoayellowdotontheleftmotor.
1.Ifthehydraulicttingswereremovedfromthewheelmotor,lubricateand
installnewO-ringstothettings.Toproperlyalignandinstallthettingsinto
thewheelmotorports,usethemarksthatyoumadeduringtheremoval
process;refertoInstallingtheHydraulicFittings(SAEStraightThread
O-RingFittingintotheComponentPort)(page4–11).
2.Positiontherearwheelmotortothemotorhousing.Ensurethattheportsin
thewheelmotorarefacingtowardtherearofthemachine.
3.Securethewheelmotortothespindlewiththe4boltsand4lockwashers.
Torquetheboltsto109to135N∙m(80to100ft-lb).
4.Removethecapsorplugsthatwereinstalledtothehydraulictubesduring
theremovalprocess.
5.LubricateandinstallnewO-ringstothettingsonthewheelmotor.Usethe
labelsthatyouattachedduringtheremovalprocesstocorrectlyconnectthe
hydraulictubestothewheelmotorttings;refertoInstallingtheHydraulic
HoseandTube(O-RingFaceSealFitting)(page4–9).
6.Cleanthetapersofthewheelhubandwheelmotorshaft.
7.Positionthewoodruffkey(item8inFigure93)tothekeyslotinthewheel
motorshaft.
IMPORTANT
Donotusetheremovedlocknuttosecurethewheelhubtothe
wheelmotor.
8.Installthewheelhubontothemotorshaftandsecurewithnewlocknut(item
7inFigure93).
9.Installtherearwheeltothemachine;refertoInstallingtheWheel(page6–6).
10.Lowerthemachinetotheground.
11.T orquethelocknutto366to447N∙m(270to330ft-lb).
12.Fillthehydraulictankwiththecorrectquantityofnewhydraulicuid.
13.Afteryoucompletetheassembly,ensurethatthehydraulictubesandttings
donotcontactanythingthroughthefullrangeofaxlemotion.Also,check
foranyhydraulic-uidleaks.
14.Operatethemachinefunctionsslowlyuntilairisoutofsystem;referto
ChargingtheHydraulicSystem(page4–94).
15.Starttheengine,checkforhydraulic-uidleaks,repairanyleaksasrequired,
andllthehydraulictankwiththecorrectquantityofnewhydraulicuid
beforereturningthemachinetoservice.
