8.RemoveanddiscardtheO-ringsfromthebody.Locateandretrievethe
dowelpins.
IMPORTANT
Beforeremovingthewearplates,notethepositionoftheopenand
closedsideofthewearplates.Alsoidentifythewearplates(front
andrear)withamarkerforproperassembly.
IMPORTANT
Marktherelativepositionsofthegearteethandwearplatessothat
youcanassembletheminthesameposition.Donottouchthegear
surfacesasresidueonhandsmaybecorrosivetogearnish.
9.Carefullyremovetherearwearplate,idlergear,drivegear,andfrontwear
platefromthefrontange.
10.Removeanddiscardtheback-upgasketsandpressuresealsfromthewear
plates.
11.Turnthefrontangeover,withthesealsideup.
IMPORTANT
Ensurethatyoudonotdamagethefrontangecounterborewhen
removingthesealsfromthefrontange.
12.Carefullyremovethedustseals,retainingring,angewasher,andshaftseal
fromthefrontange(Figure106).Discardtheseals.
InspectingtheCuttingDeckMotor
1.Removeanynicksandburrsfromallthepartswithemerycloth.
CAUTION
Useeyeprotectionsuchasgoggleswhenusingcompressedair.
2.Cleanallthemotorpartswithsolventanddrythemwithcompressedair.
