C.Applyasmallquantityofgreasearoundthelipofbothouterseals.
D.Carefullyinstalltherstoutersealintotherollertubeandensurethatthe
seallip(andgarterspring)facesendofthetube.Useabearing/outer
sealtool(refertoSpecialTools(page7–5))andasoft-facedhammerto
lightlyseatseal(Figure241).Ensurethattheshaftandbearingsstill
freelyrotateafterthesealinstallation.
E.Usethesameprocess,installthesecondoutersealandensurenotto
crushtheinstalledouterseal.Again,ensurethattheshaftandbearings
stillfreelyrotates.
IMPORTANT
Ensurethatallgreaseisremovedfromtheshaftthreadsto
preventthelooseningofthebearinglocknut.
5.Cleanthethreadsonbothendsoftherollershaft.
Note:Iforiginalbearinglocknut(s)arebeingused,applytheLoctite#242(or
equivalent)tothethreadsofthelocknut(s).

6.Installthebearinglocknutontoeachendoftherollershaft.Ensurethatthe
outersealsarenotdamagedduringthenutinstallation.Torquethelocknutto
68to81N∙m(50to60ft-lb).
7.Ifthesetscrewwasremovedfromeitherendoftherollershaft,applythe
Loctite#242(orequivalent)tothethreadsofremovedsetscrewandinstallit
intotherollershaft.Tightenthesetscrewuntilitbottomsintheshaftandis
recessedintheshaft.
IMPORTANT
Whentherollerassemblyisinstalledtothecuttingdeck,ensurethat
thegreasegrooveineachrollermountalignswiththegreasehole
ineachendoftherollershaft.
