–Ifyouspillfuel,donotattempttostarttheenginebutmovethemachine
awayfromthespill.Avoidcreatinganysourceofignitionuntilfuelvapors
havedissipated.Wipeupanyspilledfuel.
WhileOperatingtheMachine
•Sitontheseatwhenstartingandoperatingthemachine.
•Anytimeyouparkthemachine(shortorlongterm),lowerthecuttingdeck
(orimplement)totheground.
IMPORTANT
Whenyoulowerthecuttingdeckfullytotheground,thepressure
fromtheliftcircuitreleasesandpreventsthecuttingdeckfrom
accidentallylowering.
•Ifyouparkthemachineonaslope,blockorchockthewheels.
Beforestartingthemachine
DANGER
Theexhaustfumesarehazardousandhavethepotentialofinjury
ordeath.
Donotruntheengineinaconnedareawithoutadequateventilation.
1.Settheparkingbrake.
2.Ensurethatthe2drivehandlesareintheNEUTRALLOCKpositionandthe
PTOswitchisintheOFF(disengaged)position.
3.Afteryoustarttheengine,releasetheparkingbrakeandkeepthe2drive
handlesintheNEUTRALLOCKposition.Ensurethatthemachinedoesnot
move.
Note:Ifmachinemovementisevident,thetractionlinkageisadjusted
incorrectly;therefore,shutofftheengineandadjustthetractionlinkageuntil
themachinedoesnotmovewhenthe2drivehandlesareintheNEUTRAL
LOCKposition;refertoTractionUnitOperator’sManual.
CAUTION
Runningtheenginecausestheengine,radiator,andexhaustsystem
tobecomehot.Touchingahotengine,radiator,orexhaustsystem
canburnyou.
Donottouchtheengine,radiator,orexhaustsystemwhilethe
engineisrunningorsoonafteryoustopit.
